Take in the view from these Miami rooftops

Oh Miami, how lucky are we right now. The skies are blue, the clouds fluffy, sun is shining, the first taste of heat is in the air, but the daily afternoon rains are still a few weeks away. It’s the ultimate time to … chill on a roof!

Grab your friends, your hat, and your phone to blow up your Instagram and make your friends in the rest of the country jealous. Head to one of these fabulous Miami rooftops for an afternoon of sun or an evening of fun with some of the best views in town.

If you’re on a date

Cibo. Cibo makes up for its lack of a typical South Pointe skyline view with delicious Aperol Spritzes, an extensive wine list, and a classy, but casual rooftop bar complete with high-top tables and candle light. A guaranteed way to impress your date, especially if it’s the first one.

Juvia. Also a solid choice to bring a date, Juvia affords a beautiful view of Lincoln Road and Miami Beach, especially at dusk. It’s not the cheapest, but the ambience is worth springing for a fancy cocktail.

If you want to dance

Fifty Lounge. For a sophisticated spin on Miami’s nightclub scene, Fifty Lounge at the Viceroy in Brickell is it. The panoramic views of Miami are incredible, and the crowd is sexy. It’s the perfect place to show off that silver sequined dress you just bought on sale. It’s a lifestyle really. #whatyoumissed #fiftymiami #wmc #mmw2015

If you’re hosting friends

Delores but you can call me Lolita. A great place to wow out-of-towners, the rooftop terrace, at the restaurant known as Delores, is lined with lush, tropical plants through which you can admire the imposing highrises of Brickell’s Financial District. A prime spot for lunch, brunch, dinner, or drinks at the bar.

We are loving this beautiful Miami weather …

If you’re out with coworkers

Area 31. Okay, I know it isn’t technically ‘rooftop,’ but the Epic Hotel’s Area 31 Bar and Restaurant in Downtown has a fantastic terrace on the 16th floor, overlooking Brickell Key and the bay. With hard-to-beat happy hour prices on drinks and food (Mon-Tue 5-7 and Wed-Fri 5-10), there’s hardly a better place to enjoy sunset with your work crew and a cocktail in hand.

If you want to “swim”

Or watch tourists swim because, really, who actually gets in a hotel pool anymore… High Bar. The Dream Hotel’s best kept secret is its amazing 70’s inspired rooftop terrace. Lounging on a white chaise by a pool while sipping an orange-colored tropical martini is a quintessential South Beach experience that every local should enjoy at least once. Cover charges may apply, call in advance, or be sure to look your best to try your luck at the door. Dream South Beach on Twitter

Soho Beach House. If you are lucky enough to be a member, or have a friend who is, commence immediately to the 8th floor of Miami Beach’s posh Soho Beach House. Also known as “Ocho,” you’ll find a pool, a margarita bar, plush couches and chairs, a DJ, and an unbeatable vista of the turquoise water and white sand beach laid our for Miami’s young, creative set of movers and shakers.

If you’re looking for renewal

Hotel Croydon Spa. One of Miami Beach’s newer additions, Hotel Croydon hosts sunset yoga classes on its roof-deck. Round out your work or beach day with a breezy Vinyasa class. Salute the setting sun with the sea to one side and the glittering lights of Downtown Miami to the other.
