šŸ˜‚ How to tap into Miamiā€™s comedy scene

I get the sense the average Miamian doesnā€™t think of Miami as having a comedy scene. Sure, we may not be New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago, but if Iā€™ve learned one thing in this job, itā€™s that we have way more comedy going on than meets the eye!

šŸ˜‚ Weekly (or semi-weekly) comedy nights around town

On Sundays, check out Tipsy Flamingo in Downtown or Donā€™s 5 Star Dive Bar in the MiMo District.

Make Mondays a little lighter at Brickellā€™s Redbar or Thank You Miami Cocina & Beer House in Little Havana.

On Tuesdays, youā€™ve got two spots hosting comedy in both Brickell ā€” DOMā€™s, and every other week, Little Brittany ā€” and in South Beach ā€” Kush at Clevelander Sports Bar or Hotel Greystone. You can also head to Magic 13 Brewing Co. in Little Haiti.

Thereā€™s no shortage of laughter-filled Wednesday evenings. Check out The Goodtime Hotelā€™s comedy night on South Beach, Casa Floridaā€™s Comedy Club in Little Havana, The Lounge at SLS Brickell Hotelā€™s Laughing Session, or Stand up at Shirleyā€™s to the rear of Gramps in Wynwood. Then, every other Wednesday, you can try the stand up night at SimplyGood in Little River, or the Garrison Taproom in Miami Lakes.

On Thursdays, youā€™ve got Savage Labs comedy night in Wynwood, or Lincolnā€™s Beard Brewing Co. hosting comics in the Bird Road Arts District.

As for Fridays, you can count on the aforementioned Thank You Miami Cocina & Beer House.

šŸ—“ Where to find the occasional laugh

In Miami Springs, Old Tomā€™s Sports Bar hosts comedy nights periodically, as does Casa Tiki in Little Havanaā€¦ both Union Beer Store in Little Havana and Exit One Taproom in Florida City host comedy on the second Wednesday of the monthā€¦ while Laughs on Lincoln goes down the third Wednesday of the month at Time Out Market on Miami Beachā€¦ Kendallā€™s Hybrid House Coffee & Beer Bar hosts comedy on the third Thursday of the month insteadā€¦ and finally, comics could be a part of the action at both Blue Lagoonā€™s Beat Culture Brewery and South Miamiā€™s Tea & Poets open mic nights.
