Guide to Public Transit Day

So before we get into the goods:

What is Public Transit Day?

Hatched from 100 Great Ideas, a Miami-born collective problem-solving project, Public Transit Day is a day for elected officials and engaged locals to show that they’re passionate about our public transit system by ditching their cars and taking it to Miami’s Metrobus, Metrorail, and trolleys. Because if we want transit to be a top 3 priority for our elected officials, we should be walking our talk.

So on Dec. 9, social impact accelerator Radical Partners and innovator group Urban Impact Lab, along with partners, sponsors, and the support of Miami-Dade County are hosting a community day of action where locals and leaders pledge to get familiar with their transit routes.

Along the way, there’s going to be a whole day of pop-ups, happenings, happy hours, and outdoor performances to inspire you to get up and out on the town. Pro tip: Use Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app to track your routes (and access all the freebies).
