Candy canes, sugar cane, or Tim Kaine? Miami decides.

On Friday, Hillary Clinton announced her running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, via text message. The very next day she was here in Miami, where Kaine made his first public appearance as the presumptive vice presidential Democratic candidate.

“Bienvenidos a todos,” he said to the packed arena at Florida International University’s main campus, garnering howls and cheers.

“For many of you, this is the first time you have heard my name … that is okay because I am excited for us to get to know each other,” he said. The arena rumbled in laughter.

This has already been a long election campaign, and the main event isn’t even underway, so we figured we should have some fun, too. Before Kaine took the stage, we asked people in the crowd to pick their favorite Kaine/cane/Caine. They had five options: candy cane, walking cane, Michael Caine, sugar cane, and Tim Kaine. Candy canes had a strong lead to begin, but soon enough Tim Kaine caught up. Watch the video below for the winner. And cute political babies.
