Video: Lil Greenhouse Grill’s gotta lotta soul

Your taste buds won’t be the only ones dancing after a meal at Lil Greenhouse GrillStroll into this mom-and-pop shop and you’re sure to find authentic soul food eats and people grooving in their seats.

What started out as a food truck has rapidly evolved into a gathering place for the community, like the “Cheers” of the neighborhood. People come for the food and stay for the vibe.

“People always tell me they feel like they’ve stepped into an aunt’s house,” says Nicole.

Nicole Gates and her partner Karim Bryant saw a need in Overtown for a sit-down, dine-in restaurant where families could gather on a Friday night to enjoy live music and a nice meal without leaving the neighborhood. So they created one.

“People are coming back to Overtown that haven’t been here in 10 years to see the progress and the development of this amazing community,” Nicole said.

We think Lil Greenhouse Grill’s smoked chicken wings and baked mac-and-cheese have a little something to do with that, too.
