Miansai was born in a UM dorm. Now it’s gone national.

We’ve got two Miansai bracelets to give away to two lucky The New Tropic readers.  Two random entries will be selected. UPDATE: This contest has ended. Thanks all!

Miami-based luxury jewelry brand Miansai was born in co-founder Michael Saiger’s dorm room at the University of Miami in 2008. He was looking for men’s jewelry and when he couldn’t find any he liked — he made his own.

Now, it’s one of the only men’s jewelry brands in the country, and its HQ is along the railroad tracks on North Miami Avenue.

People kept asking him where he got it, and he realized he was onto something. He teamed up with handyman Thier Peraza, who can basically make anything out of anything.

Together they started selling the products to luxury brands all over the country.

Miansai is a blend of Michael Saiger’s name. Mi-an-sai. Get it?

Anyway, they make all of their jewelry in a factory on the outskirts of Wynwood. And do their photography shoots in-house, too.

Ladies, don’t get jealous – in 2014 Miansai expanded to making women’s jewelry, too.

They have two stores,  one in New York and another in L.A.

Could Miami be on the way? Until then, you can buy their swag online.
