How the men of Moonlight #LiveLikeYouLiveHere

Based off an autobiographical play by Miamian Tarell Alvin McCraney, Moonlight chronicles the life of Chiron, a young black boy living in a housing project with his drug-addicted single mother. He is struggling to understand his own sexuality while growing up poor in a part of Miami many of us never see or talk about.

The movie doesn’t rely on stereotypes, of the characters themselves or of Miami as a city. A lot of that is thanks to director Barry Jenkins, another Miamian. You can read our full review here.
