Miami and Miami-Dade County are big areas with a lot of development, hustle and bustle, and plenty of things to check out. But there’s much more to the city than its urban core and the beaches.
With that in mind we wanted to give a spotlight to one of the largest populations in our county, a neighborhood with plenty to check out that doesn’t involve searching for parking in an expensive garage or dealing with spring break crowds — West Kendall.
Over the past month, we’ve had a chance to explore West Kendall and found a unique spot that serves up both hand-rolled ice cream and some of the best sushi in the 305 at DIY Poke Bowl. We took a trip into the history books by exploring the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, got a look at the Kendall Ice Arena, and a tea shop that has a lot of flavor at Tea ‘N Sanity.
We hope this guide inspires you to learn more about West Kendall and take some time to explore its hidden gems.
