We kicked off Miami Art Week Saturday night at Fancy Nasty studios. Were you there with us?

Let’s be real: although Art Basel Miami Beach was created to be all about the art, nowadays it’s just as much about the parties.

If you’re looking at your calendar for the week bummed because it doesn’t have any of the fabulous parties you assume everyone else is invited to, it’s all good. We’ve got a locals guide coming out tomorrow.

Plus, today we’ve tapped the brain of our man Chris Adamo, who always has the party hookup, on how to get your foot in the door at parties all over town this week. Here are his 12 tips.

Bonus: FREE admission to PAMM and the Frost Science Museum. (Indulge)

#Blessed. Miami has A LOT of botanicas, the shops that sell all the religious fixings you need to practice Santeria. Possibly even more than any city in Cuba. The Miami Herald has the scoop on how it became a booming industry in the 305, and explores some of the OG stores.

We’re gonna need some stilts. Florida could lose almost 6,000 archaeological and historic sites, like Vizcaya and Hemingway’s house in Key West, in the next century if seas rise by even one meter. That’s more than any other state. (Miami New Times)

Hoppy Holidays. South Florida breweries are getting into that holiday spirit, with everything from Wynwood Brewing’s coquito-flavored beer to Bousa Brewing’s Grinch’s Ale. (Miami.com)

Oops. On Friday we forgot to include the link to the story on several South Florida startups that are leading the way in tech solutions for the elderly. Check it out here. (Miami Herald)
