💧What Miami is talking about

Technique Records is celebrating the MC who sells rhymes like dimes: Tomorrow night the local record store is taking to Twitch for Doom’s Day, an online tribute to all things MF Doom. The event — which marks the 21st anniversary of the release of Doom’s insanely influential debut solo album Operation: Doomsday — will have plenty of DJs, beatmakers, and passionate fans on hand to pay respects to King Geedorah himself.

Several entertainment venues have begun reopening in Miami-Dade. However, don’t get your hopes up about a return to traditional normalcy just yet: any reopened spots must abide by COVID safety guidelines and operate at 50% capacity.

The Miami Heat narrowly lost to the Boston Celtics during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday. This followed last Thursday’s third-quarter comeback that saw the Heat take the lead in the series. The teams will square off for Game 4 on Wednesday.

The U.S.Army Corps of Engineers is planning a new project to alleviate Biscayne Bay’s ongoing troubles. If you’re interested in saving Miami’s muddied waters, the Corps is taking public comments through Friday, October 2.

💧 Virtual Town Hall: Saving Biscayne Bay

The major fish kill last month is just another sign of the Biscayne Bay’s declining health.

The Bay needs our help.

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava is hosting the Saving Biscayne Bay Town Hall tomorrow at noon.

Commissioner Levine Cava & moderator Louis Aguirre of WPLG Local 10/ABC will be joined by local environmental experts & advocates including Biscayne Bay Taskforce, Miami Waterkeeper, Surfrider, FIU Institute of Environment, and Miami-Dade County DERM.

Together, we need to discuss the best solutions for saving our Bay and find ways to engage the public.

The future of Biscayne Bay depends on us.
