What issues affect South Dade?

South Dade is on the edge of Miami-Dade, and it’s the agricultural hub of the entire county. It’s filled with people concerned about how we grow and get our food. And with Turkey Point power plant and the Everglades in its backyard, it’s ground zero for a lot of the water issues facing Miami. Priority number one for many, though, is connecting South Dade residents to the opportunities of the Miami metropolis, despite the distance.

Algae blooms are devastating local estuaries and small businesses are suffering… but 400,000 acres of sugar cane fields that line Lake O are a lush, healthy green. So are the pockets of Florida’s politicians.
