Your story in 100 words or less: Founded by Cuban-American entrepreneur Carlos Padron, Miami-based The Tank Brewing Company embodies a homegrown passion for brewing honest, expertly-crafted artisanal beer using only the finest ingredients from mash to tap. The Tank’s popular core beers, La Finca Miami, Freedom Tower Amber, El Farito IPA, La Playita, and its newest flavorful low-calorie brew, Lo-Ca, were all inspired by the brewery’s love for its hometown of Miami.

The Tank’s La Finca was the recipient of the coveted gold medal at the 2018 World Beer Cup. Encompassing more than 25,000 square feet, The Tank’s taproom features the popular Twisted Fork Kitchen, which serves a varied menu of local favorites, as well as a cigar room.

What’s an average day in the life look like: There is never a dull day at The Tank. From brainstorming new craft beer flavors and internal tasting sessions to planning special events in our taproom, our days are long, challenging, and tremendously rewarding. Since we opened The Tank in 2016, our mission has been to craft great beer that is rooted in Miami’s culture.

Keeping up with the ever-evolving trends of the craft beer industry is one of the most exciting aspects of it all, and a key element in the development of our craft beers.

We are passionate about great-tasting beer, and we pride ourselves on being a “hands-on” team. From conceiving new beers to sourcing ingredients and launching the final products, we are involved in every step of the process in order to provide our customers with the best quality.

What’s your favorite thing about the neighborhood you do business in: We are located just west of Miami International Airport and a stone’s throw away from Doral. It is a very interesting neighborhood. Though relatively new, it is a thriving scene with booming businesses across the board. One of our favorite aspects is that it is centrally located, allowing us to serve its amazing community and surrounding neighborhoods.

If you could tell your customers and community one thing, what would it be: “We are tremendously grateful to our community, which has continued to support us amid the pandemic. Like many local businesses, we pivoted our business to online ordering and delivery, and the response has been amazing.

#TankItForward is a campaign we launched to encourage people to treat their loved ones to their favorite beers while practicing social distancing. The campaign was tremendously successful, resulting in thousands of orders, and it allowed us to keep our dedicated staff on board. Twenty percent of all beer sales were donated to our tasting room employees as a show of appreciation for all their hard work.
