Things to do on Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road has many other things besides shopping at one of its many stores. Walk around under the road’s architecture landscapes, grab a bite or drink, learn about its design and development history or sit down and just enjoy the crowd passing by. The cultural mix on every block is definitely something to embrace and take a part in. Yoga

Community yoga is free and open to the public twice a week. Get your vinyasa flowing every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and every Sunday at 10 a.m. with Warrior Flow’s founder Adrian Molina. Limited mats are available, but people are free to bring their own.

Art Center South Florida

The Art Center South Florida has supported artists since the 1980s and continues to invite the community around Lincoln Road and Miami to learn, experience and even create art with them. The center has many events open to the public. You can either take a drawing class; attend workshops, artist talks and performances; and go to their open studio nights where the public can go into artist residents’ studios and get personal insight on their work. Colony Theatre

Miami New Drama offers different shows every week or month at the Colony Theatre. Many of the performances tell Miami stories and show the diversity and multilingual chops that the city has. Lincoln Road has been the theatre’s home since 1935 and keeps entertaining both locals and visitors.

The Green Market

Stock up on fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, honey, plants and many more local produce. Walk down five blocks of the weekly farmer’s market for a healthy meal or grocery shopping. This market has been going on for the past 28 years!

Walking Tours

Discover the road’s history, design evolution and what lead to Lincoln Road’s revival in the past years. Every Friday at 11 a.m., the Miami Design Preservation League hosts a walking tour starting at the Albion Hotel. If you missed that weekly tour, you can join Art Deco Walks to learn more about the architectural history of different buildings, like The Delano and the Sterling. People can schedule the tours any day and time for $30 per person.

Yappy hour

Dog owners unite with a two hour social hosted every third Thursday of the month. The Dog Bar hosts the Yappy Hour with free dog treats and food samples for your four-legged friends. A training demonstration is also given at the event. No prior planning needs to be done. Just show up with your dog and get ready to have some fun!

New World Symphony

New World Symphony is a cultural treasure, with its Frank Gehry-designed venue, impeccable interior, amazing acoustics, and award-winning, bold programming. Over the years they’ve hosted musical genius Philip Glass, performed Igor Stravinsky’s groundbreaking Rite of Spring and hosted PULSE, a series dedicated to jazz-influenced works and contemporary hits. However, The Wallcast Concert series is probably NWS’s most popular program. Concert goers can watch the live indoor performance from a big outdoor screen — for free. BYOB.
