NoMi’s coffee roasters (and pizza makers)

Ever seen a Sivetz in action? This fluid-bed coffee roaster works overtime at Alaska Coffee Roasting Co. in North Miami where your cup of joe is roasted and brewed to order. First established in 1993 in Fairbanks, Alaska, Michael Gesser decided to bring what he’s coined “The Wine of the Tropics,” well, to the tropics, where his sister Karen lives.

She’s a certified pizza chef and baker, so you can expect to find more than just coffee at this shop.

FUN FACT: All of their coffee is roasted, ground and brewed in house, but if coffee’s not your thing they sell local beer brews, too. 🍺

QUOTABLE: “I won the best coffee in the United States when Keith Davis started The Coffee Review in 1999.” – Michael Gesser

CHECK IT OUT: Alaska Coffee Roasting Co. is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and starting at 8 a.m. on weekends. Stop by once and Karen’s likely to get to know you by name.
