Today we’re speaking with pediatrician Dr. Roberto Uriel. Dr. Uriel, where can Miami find your practice? How long have you been in business?
I’ve been practicing pediatrics for 36 years, serving South Florida through South Florida Pediatrics since 1989. We see our patients at 3905 NW 107 Ave Suite 412 in Doral.
Why did you choose Doral as the homebase for South Florida Pediatrics?
I have been a longtime resident of Doral and have experienced the growth and progress of the city. I want to be a part of it. I want to bring my many years of experience to this vibrant up and coming city.
What sets your business apart from everyone else?
As I have been practicing pediatrics for 36 years, I have extensive experience in the field. I am well known and respected by my peers.
Why do you do what you do?
My career goals are keeping children healthy, preventing childhood diseases, educating families about health and proper nutrition, and generally easing difficulties for patients.
Are there any local businesses or organizations that also inspire your work? If so, give them a shout:
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is our affiliated hospital. I have been an attending physician at Nicklaus Children’s for many years and work very closely with them.
Any quick tips you have for families on how to stay healthy?
The arrival of a new school year coincides with the arrival of flu season, which peaks from October to May. Now’s the time to get your flu shot! The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends annual influenza immunization of all children (without medical contraindications) starting at 6 months of age. Speaking of shots, are your kids up to date with their immunizations? South Florida Pediatrics stands ready to provide. We’re also available to complete sports physicals for students who want to participate in athletics this school year.
What’s your biggest challenge as a business and how can Miamians help?
With a brand new office located in Doral, we’re focused on getting the word out that our door is open and we’re ready to see new patients! We’d love Miami to come see us at our new office and thank the community for continuing to trust us with their care.
