Don’t eat this spoon

Earthware is seeking to make South Florida more sustainable one fork, knife or spoon at a time. Supported by green accelerator EcoTech Visions, the compostable cutlery startup is hoping to help businesses replace petroleum-based products (that end up in our landfills) with utensils made up of organic, plant-based materials. Earthware’s products are 100% compostable, which means they can be broken down and turned into soil, to encourage customers to avoid wasteful habits that contribute to global warming.

Local green-tech incubator and accelerator EcoTech is celebrating two years of taking Miami into a greener future with community festival EcoFest on Nov. 17 and fundraiser EcoFête on Nov. 19. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit their new, net-zero facility in the heart of the Green Corridor.
